Movember Movement: Don’t be macho!
In 2003 a couple of mates in Australia had an idea to bring back the once fashionable mustache – think Burt Reynolds photo shoot circa 1972. That year they didn’t raise any money but they were so inspired by the conversation they decided to make it a fundraiser for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA). At the time, that first Movember check was the largest single donation the PCFA had ever received. That was the start of Movember Foundation which in the last nine years has raised over $446 million dollars for prostate research and cancer awareness programs.
